Drive-by shooting: Man shot in the leg while walking past the Wesley Gardens Apartments in southwest Houston near S Braeswood

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that injured a man in southwest Houston on Friday.
Police said the shooting occurred around 10:45 p.m. at the 8700 block of Gustine Lane, near Braeswood Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.
HPD officials said they provided assistance by putting on a tourniquet until paramedics arrived.
The man is believed to have been running outside the Wesley Gardens Apartment Complex when an unidentified vehicle drove past, opened fire and fled, HPD said.
According to HPD, the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition but is believed to survive, police said.
