In what remains an incredibly mysterious campaign, Dr. Mehmet Oz participated in a $5,000-a-plate fundraiser hosted by a sex site Matt Gaetz’s in-laws on Thursday evening at Air Museum of Lyon and stood in front of one of Adolf Hitler’s cars, which made it into the background of the contestants’ photos.

The museum is packed with WWII memorabilia, and yes, it’s just a museum. But a campaign that allows its candidate to be photographed at a fundraiser with a car that literally has a swastika on it is quite a pick.

Photos from the event naturally surfaced on social media and Twitter user Larry Tenney divided a screenshot from Instagram Stories showing Oz on a small podium next to a television monitor displaying the National Republican Senatorial Committee logo and a hashtag #TheOzShow. Jezebel confirmed this picture like coming from the account Shane Mitchellwho attended the event. Behind Oz is a dark chariot that matches the museum’s photos website a 1939 Mercedes-Benz Model G4 Open Touring Wagon. The museum’s website states:

“This particular G4, 440875, was originally delivered to Adolph Hitler in late 1939 and was used by the Führer in Obersalzberg, Berlin and Poland until it was seized by the French Army at Berchtesgaden.”

The red plaque with a swastika is not visible in Oz’s photo.

We have several theories as to how and why this happened. First, the Oz team is extremely bad at their job. Second, they hate their boss. Third, this was a deliberate wink at the fascist elements of the Republican Party.

The event’s chairman, Palmer Luckey, is Gaetz’s brother-in-law and the billionaire founder of Oculus VR. Lucky is a Donald Trump fan and in 2017 he was photographed With Steve Bannon and white supremacist Chuck C. Johnson, with both Johnson and Luckey showing a white power gesture. happiness claims on Twitter that the gesture as a hate symbol is “fake news” and that people are doing it to “playfully imitate Trump.”

Potentially not unrelated to his politics, Luckey is also the head of a military technology company called Anduril, which makes surveillance equipment used at the US border and now builds drones. The company has multiple contracts with the Ministry of Defense and Gaetz is sitting at the House Forces Committee.

Mitchell’s Instagram stories also revealed that culture warriors and incel king are canceling Jordan Peterson appeared at the event via video.

The event was also attended by NRSC Chairman Sen. Rick Scott Candidate for the Florida and Nevada Senate Adam Laxalt.

Really the fundraiser from hell. I have contacted Oz’s campaign and they have not responded to my request for comment.
