DONALD Trump will break his silence with a prime-time speech after appearing in court.

The ex-president, 76, is brought into a New York courtroom after surrendering to authorities in Manhattan on Tuesday.

He will then deliver a prime-time speech just hours later from his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

The 2024 Republican nominee will face cameras after being fingerprinted, processed and photographed by prosecutors in New York.

He faces charges of hush money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election to silence allegations of an affair.

Paying hush money is not illegal, but it has been alleged that Trump falsified records to misrepresent the payment.

Trump will plead not guilty to the charge, which is the first ever faced by a former president.

It comes as the businessman’s lawyer said he hoped the court appearance would be “painless and in style”.

The payment was served on the porn actress by Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to violating the Campaign Finance Act and was sentenced to three years in prison in 2018.

Joe Tacopina defended his client in a CNN interview, claiming, “This was a personal issue, not a campaign issue.”

He added Trump will rise in court to “very loudly and proudly plead not guilty.”

His 2024 presidential campaign has netted over £3million since being impeached last week, with the ex-leader overtaking Republican rival Ron DeSantis in new polls.
