Disneyland ticket prices increase by up to 8%; Parking 20% ​​higher


Disneyland and neighboring California Adventure Park lifted most day pass prices on Monday, taking an even higher price on the most popular days of the year, like Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

To handle the crowds, the park introduced a five-tier pricing scheme in 2016, charging more on the busiest days and less on the low-demand days. The price for days with the lowest demand – like Tuesday and Wednesday in late January – remains unchanged at $104. But prices for the other four tiers have increased, and the resort has added a sixth tier with the highest price, $164 for a one-day visit to a single park on the busiest days of the year, including select weekends, Holidays and Spring Break.

The price hikes come despite several popular attractions at the parks remaining closed since the parks reopened in April following the pandemic shutdown, a complaint that theme park fans have frequently voiced social media. Disneyland officials noted that California Adventure Park added a six-acre Marvel superhero-themed land — called Avengers Campus — in June and the resort plans to launch several vacation attractions, including a new Christmas parade.

The resort’s reservations calendar shows there are no reservations available for nearly every weekend for the next two months, but that may change as Disney has occasionally opened up reservations.

A few weeks after launching the Magic Key program, Disney introduced a new mobile app that allows park-goers willing to pay a premium to skip the wait for the most popular attractions.

The new app — known as Disney Genie — replaced two older systems at Disneyland — the free FastPass and the $20-a-day MaxPass — that allowed park-goers to reserve a timeslot at an attraction, bypassing the traditional lines and jumping into an accelerated fastpass lane instead.

Disney Genie is a free app that recommends a visit route based on the attractions, shows, and restaurants selected by users at the start of the day. Disney Genie+ is a similar app that costs $20 a day at Disneyland and can be used to make reservations to get on a ride at a specific time, skip the traditional lines and gain access to a new Lightning Lane instead grant.

Disneyland will operate more than 15 Lightning Lane attractions, and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will have more than 40 Lightning Lane attractions. Users can only make one reservation at a time.
