Disney-branded hand sanitizer recalled after carcinogens were found

Two Disney-branded hand sanitizers are being recalled after they were found to contain carcinogens.

Tests by the Food and Drug Administration found that the products, a Mandalorian-branded hand sanitizer and a Mickey Mouse-branded product, contained benzene and methanol, respectively.

Sales of the products, which were made by a third-party manufacturer and imported by Disney seller Best Brands Consumer Products Inc., had already been suspended last April for unrelated commercial reasons. Best Brands did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The company has said it has not received any reports of adverse events related to the two voluntarily recalled batches of sanitizers, nor for other finished product lots of its 68% ethyl alcohol hand sanitizer products. Disney-branded hand sanitizer recalled after carcinogens were found
