Disastrous ‘Quantumania’ reception sparks ‘The Kang Dynasty’ hype

As a rule of thumb, fans of big franchises are a pretty defeatist bunch at best, but it’s easy to see why the muted reaction to that is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has already raised concerns for a film years away.
Having used no fewer than nine writers for the first two episodes – lead actor Paul Rudd being the only writer to be credited with both – Peyton Reed’s threesome was penned by a single screenwriter. Rick and Morty alum Jeff Loveness has also been tasked with the hammer Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in form, leading many to already panic that the next assembly of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is destined to overwhelm.
Not even trying to compare Sony’s attempt at a shared mythology with Kevin Feige’s dominant Marvel Cinematic Universe, but for the sake of comparison, Mrs. Netz comes to mind immediately. Not quite so serious, but if Loveness’ first attempt at getting an MCU project into shape has instantly become one of the franchise’s most under-rated features of all time, then there’s at least one valid reason for it The Kang Dynasty be immediately mitigated with reduced expectations.
