Derek Carr is already being recruited by NFL players when he enters free agency

The Las Vegas Raiders fired Derek Carr Tuesday, meaning he’ll be the best free-agent quarterback out there. Even better, he doesn’t have to wait until the legal tampering deadline to speak to teams.
This allows Carr and his team to jump right in and speak to any organization of their choice. Players on these teams also don’t waste time starting their recruitment process.
Two players from a couple of teams in need of quarterbacks — the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints — took to Twitter to strike up a conversation with the veteran signal caller.

First, it was Saints Pro Bowl defensive end Cam Jordan who didn’t plan on using social media anytime soon. But he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to beat Carr.
“I know I said goodbye to social media, but @derekcarrqb I know it might be early, but it’s also Valentine’s Day [sic] swapping black and silver and falling in love with BLACK & GOLD?” Jordan wrote with a laughing and hand-hearted emoji.

He even found a jersey swap of Carr wearing the Saints threads and captioned it “Hmmmmmm…..”
But Jets star cornerback Sauce Gardner, who just won Defensive Rookie of the Year last week, Carr wanted to bring the Jets to mind.
“Aye @derekcarrqb, you remember your last words before I left the ProBowl? No need for an answer; just asking,” he wrote.
Now that’s interesting: Could Gardner suggest that Carr tell him about his interest while they were in Las Vegas together for the Pro Bowl?

Gang Green will certainly look to Carr to fill their quarterback gap, but the Saints are a step ahead. Carr has been visiting them since the Raiders gave him permission to talk to other teams.

New Orleans also reportedly had a trade package ready for the Raiders, but Carr told Las Vegas he wouldn’t sign a deal — he had a no-trade clause in his contract — forcing his release.
The Saints remain interested, but are expected to face competition from teams like the Jets, Tennessee Titans and others.
