Deloitte has shed half its 16-strong UK executive team, including the managing partner and heads of three of its five service lines, in a surprise overhaul that will reduce the proportion of women at the helm of the firm.
Eight of the accounting firm’s oldest partners are to be removed from the executive team to make way for six newcomers, only one of whom is a woman, according to people briefed on the changes and documents by the Financial Times.
The restructuring, which employees were only told when FT contacted the company on Thursday, is to be billed internally as a “refresher” and presented as business-as-usual, according to two people at the company.
