Dancing With the Stars: Selma Blair is leaving season 31 due to MS-related health concerns

LOS ANGELES — “Dancing with the Stars” launched a two-day event in competition. In the first round, we saw the stars dance to the theme of their ‘most memorable year’.

The 12 remaining couples performed emotional routines that represented the most impactful years of their lives.

Eleven couples danced and brought tears to the eyes of the jury, the audience and each other. The 12th couple to take the stage came into the ballroom with a stunning announcement: actress Selma Blair and Sasha Farber left the competition due to health reasons.

“I wish I could stay and study,” Blair said.

The actress, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, consulted her doctors, who discovered some minor injuries. Blair said she didn’t want it to become anything more serious.

The DWTS judges let Blair know how much their presence means to them.

“This competition is tough for everyone, but when others have climbed hills, you’ve climbed mountains,” said head judge Len Goodman.

“You made everyone happy,” said Derek Hough. “Thank you for sharing the journey with us.”

“You have inspired millions,” said Bruno Tonioli. “Your star has never shone brighter.”

“Watching you every week has been a living, breathing dance wonder,” said Carrie Ann Inaba. “You are a blessing and a gift.”

Since Blair and Farber withdrew from the competition, there was no disqualification from the judges’ scores and viewer votes. The votes from this round will be added to Tuesday night’s overall results where we will see an elimination.

Leading the judges’ ranking after Monday’s round is Charli D’Amelio with 39 points out of 40. Wayne Brady is in second place with 37 out of 40.

Between Gabby Windey and Heidi D’Amelio lies a tie in third place with 36 from 40. In contrast, Jessie James Decker brought up the rear with 29/40.

Tuesday’s theme is Prom Night.
