A one-night performance has been announced for November 12 at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, bringing together 18 dancers from various elite Russian ballet companies, some of whom left the country shortly after the invasion of Ukraine.
“Reunited in Dance” will feature both new choreography and popular classics, officials at the center said in the announcement about the special performance.
The featured dancers are from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Slovak Republic, Brazil, Switzerland and Australia and have performed with companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet, Mikhailovsky Ballet, Stanislavsky Theater and others.

“On this special night, all of these artists, wherever they come from, become one remarkable group that not only stands up for what we believe, but dances for it,” said Artistic Director and British dancer Xander Parish.
Many of the dancers have also previously performed at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, where the concert hall is located.
“I know the arts have always had the power to bring people together,” said Elizabeth Segerstrom, whose Henry T. and Elizabeth Segerstrom Foundation helps make the performance possible. “I’m honored to play a role in bringing these artists together, who come from many different countries and backgrounds, to bring us all together.”
Tickets start at $59 and go on sale today, October 11 at 10 a.m. on scfta.org.
