Cristiano Ronaldo knocks over bottles and throws the captain’s armband as opposition fans chant Lionel Messi’s name after Al Nassr’s defeat

Cristiano Ronaldo lost his cool and lashed out after Al Nassr lost a crucial Saudi Pro League game.

Al Nassr drew against Al Ittihad before Romainho struck Ronaldo’s side ten minutes from time.

This meant that the Jeddah side were pushed out of the top spot by their opponents and Ronaldo was far from happy.

Al Ittihad is one of Al Nassr’s biggest rivals and they rubbed salt in the wounds by tweeting a clip of Ronaldo being attacked and captioning the post: “Where’s Ronaldo?”

After full-time, frustration got the better of the former Manchester United star, who ripped off his captain’s armband as he trotted toward the tunnel.

Despite his teammates trying to comfort them, the 38-year-old shrugged and tossed up a couple of water bottles and pouted as he walked down the tunnel.

It wasn’t a great performance from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who managed just one shot on target throughout the competition.

And when Romainho scored for former Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, Al Nassr had no answer and ceded first place to his rivals.

Ronaldo turned to applaud the visiting fans as chants of “Lionel Messi” were heard at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

The Portugal international shook his head angrily before kicking five water bottles and digging up a mound of grass on his way off the pitch.

This is Al Nassr’s second league defeat, while Ronaldo has not scored in his last two games.

The veteran forward has been in good form, scoring eight goals in five games, but that result leaves question marks over the Saudi side’s title challenge.

Al Nassr is chasing his first Saudi Pro League title in four years.

But they can make it up to them in the King Cup of Champions if they face Abha on Tuesday before taking on the same opponent five days later in the league.
