Crash report reveals new details on Mayor Henry’s crash

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – An Indiana officer’s standard crash report, denied by the city but obtained by WANE 15, contains detailed new evidence of the crash that led to the arrest of Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry led on Sunday.

According to the report, the driver hit by Henry was traveling south on Old Mill Road and was about to enter a roundabout at the intersection of Old Mill and Westover Streets.

The driver said in the report that she thought Henry’s vehicle – which the accident report said was a city vehicle – was going to hit her in the head, so the driver honked Henry’s horn. The driver also said Henry’s vehicle jerked at the last minute, avoiding a head-on collision, according to the crash report.

The accident report states that the estimated total damage between the two vehicles is between “$25,001 and $50,000.”

According to the report, both Henry and the driver were wearing seat belts during the accident.

The report also said that the weather was “clear” and the road surface “dry” at the time of the accident.
