Conroe’s father becomes a detective to find evidence in a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured his son

CONROE, Texas (KTRK) — A father turned himself into a detective to find the person responsible for the hit-and-run accident that seriously injured his son. His instincts, along with some help from the community, helped close the case.
“I got off in the middle of the Gosling and Shadowbend intersection,” said father Nicolas Andrade. “I closed my eyes and prayed and asked the Lord, ‘Let me see through your eyes. Guide my feet as I walk. Guide my eyes to see what I need to see to help my son.'”
This prayer led him to find out what he believed had happened on September 25th when someone hit his son, also named Nicolas Andrade. The accident sent him to the hospital with a broken collarbone and spinal injuries.
The father also collected debris and car parts from the scene, then posted pictures on social media and asked the community for help.
“We had a lady who got in touch via Facebook. Sure enough, they had dash cam footage,” said the elder Nicolas.
What would you do to find the person who caused your son’s injuries? Tonight at 10pm Eyewitness News brings you how far a father went for justice.
