Congress becomes a “waffle house” as politicians almost erupt in brawls

The days before the final vote that chose Kevin McCarthy as Speakers of the House of Representatives have been boisterous, to say the least. At one point, Alabama Republican Mike Rogers went after Florida Republican Matt Gaetz and had to be held back by North Carolina Republican Richard Hudson, resulting in it now being called the Waffle House of Representatives.

It seemed like Kevin McCarthy would waltz into the Speaker’s seat with no problem as Republicans took control of the House. They should have known better, and now McCarthy has conceded so much that the seat he fought for is hardly worth sitting in anymore. Brawls almost broke out in frustration before the 15th vote was tallied and McCarthy emerged victorious, leading many people to scratch their heads and wonder, the victor of what?

Play-by-play commentary is the best entertainment C-SPAN has had in a long time. As McCarthy walks away, clearly frustrated, Rogers points at Geatz as if to say, “Listen punk, dial right now and stop being such a whiny little baby.”

Of course, Waffle House brawls really do go down. Chairs and plates start flying. Spectators must hide under tables. It gets messy. The brawl on the floor looked more like a comedy skit SNL.

If you look closely, is that his real hair? It doesn’t seem to be and that would fit the plot of the scene anyway. Isn’t this all just a facade?

The most obvious statement is that this will be a SNL Sketch. The comedians of the long-running comedy show are going to have a big day with this. The only questions left are when will it happen and who will play his role?

When grown men attack each other indoors, supposed politicians who see themselves as leaders of the free world, it doesn’t look good. What America has learned is that politicians can be disgusted with street violence, while throwing themselves in chambers is fine.

Kevin McCarthy won the seat, but can he really be happy with how he got there? The jokes flying around do not only serve the humorous effect. They show the ridiculousness of the whole circus and that’s a scar that will remain as long as he stays in office. Congress becomes a “waffle house” as politicians almost erupt in brawls
