Community wants answers after girl, 11, was sexually assaulted near Dulles Elementary, Washington Park

CHICAGO — The Washington Park community gathered Monday to warn the community to find the man responsible for the sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl near Dulles Elementary School and to ask how to do it in a supposedly safe transit zone could pass.

The 11-year-old girl was walking home from school on Thursday afternoon when a man appeared behind her, put his hand over her mouth and pulled her to a secluded area of ​​an alleyway in the 6200 block of South Indiana, where he sexually abused her .

The girl was able to free herself and run away.

The community notes that this happened within the steps of a safe passage monitored by CPS and should be handled by the Chicago Police Department.

“I want the Chicago Police Department to arrest every sex offender in Washington Park,” said Bamani Oladele of Acclivus.

The suspect is described as a black male, 45-60 years old, 5’11” tall, with a thin build and graying hair. Police said he was wearing a black shirt, black jeans with a silver belt buckle and black work boots.
