Chicago shooting: 90-year-old man shot dead in Lawndale, detectives questioning interested person, police department says

CHICAGO (WLS) — A 90-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting on the city’s West Side Saturday morning, the Chicago Police Department said.

The man was discovered around 10:00 a.m. at the 1500 block of South Harding Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Chicago Police Department said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

Area Four detectives are speaking with a person of interest, police said.

Authorities did not provide any further information about the incident.
