Chicago Open House: North Lawndale

CHICAGO – When Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. moved to Chicago with his family to fight for fair housing and spent a lot of time at the Stone Temple Baptist Church.
Stone Temple Baptist is one of several significant landmarks and buildings open to the public for viewing this weekend as part of the Open House Chicago tour series.
“Open House Chicago is the biggest event of the year for the Chicago Architecture Center,” said Sinhue Mendoza, director of communications and public affairs for the Chicago Architecture Center. “Today we have over 150 locations in 20 different parts of the city.”
Other notable attractions in the North Lawndale neighborhood for the public to visit include the Central Park Theater and the Chicago Sukkah Design Festival.
Open House Chicago will take place again tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
