Chaos and confusion reigned at Stamford Bridge as the Blues were awarded a penalty following the intervention of video referees.

Havertz’s first try hit the post before hitting his second
The anger of the Borussia Dortmund players who were unhappy with the penalty decision against them, although the ball clearly hit Marius Wolf’s hand.
Havertz stepped up to take the penalty after not scoring eight games since January 15.
His shot went back off the post and the ball was then cleared by a Dortmund defender.
The German striker had his hands on his head but was given a reprieve.
Replays showed the Dortmund defender, who cleared the ball, was already in the box before Havertz executed the penalty and the Chelsea man was allowed to hit back.
He played coolly and put it on the same page, giving the Blues the advantage in the tie.

That was Chelsea’s second goal after Raheem Sterling’s opener to put them 2-1 up in the tie.
