Chelsea are “contacting Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique” as they make a list of 6 candidates to replace Potter – but rule out one
CHELSEA will not make a move for Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi.
Chairman Todd Boehly is currently preparing a list of five to seven candidates to replace the axed Graham Potter.
Those interested will be contacted soon, but the highly respected de Zerbi is not among them.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues have already spoken to former Spain coach Luis Enrique and ex-Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann, who is said to be a favorite for the job.
Both are said to be interested in the job, but Nagelsmann may not be ready to take over until the summer.
Chelsea are huge admirers of the work of the Italian De Zerbi, but while they have the utmost respect for him and Brighton, he is not seen as the right man.
The recently deleted Bayern boss Nagelsmann, Fulham boss Marco Silva, Mauricio Pochettino, ex-Tottenham, as well as ex-Barcelona and Enrique are also on the list.
Napoli’s Luciano Spalletti and Oliver Glasner from Eintracht Frankfurt finished second in the race.
Potter was canceled on Sunday and is now on vacation and taking a break.
He only lasted seven months of a five-year contract before being sacked.

First-team coach Bruno Saltor has taken over on an interim basis.
Chelsea are only now beginning the recruitment process.
They made a conscious decision not to consider hiring a new boss until Potter learned of the decision to relinquish his services.
However, it is likely that a new boss will be in charge before the end of the season.
