Featured Game | Benfica vs Liverpool

A duel to watch: Benfica’s defense, thwarting Ajax’s attack, was key in the final round Jan Vertonghen and Nicolas Otamendi will again play an important role against people like Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. Interestingly, both Vertonghen and Otamendi have Premier League experience, while Diaz joined Anfield from FC Porto so there will be plenty of familiarity. Add to that the fact that Otamendi is a yellow card away from suspension in the second leg and will therefore walk a tightrope from the start. – Jonathan Johnson

Most likely without conceding a goal: Alisson Becker. Liverpool are arguably favorites to win so Alisson would be a more logical choice to concede while Salah, Mane, Jota or Diaz could do the damage. Given that the Egyptian has been under a bit of scrutiny lately, this could be the kind of game where he makes the difference to serve as a reminder of his quality. – Jonathan Johnson

Voted man of the match: Thiago Alcantara has the technical ability to dominate and dictate this type of competition and he will be one of the biggest threats Benfica are trying to neutralize. However, this is a fight where I expect him to come out on top. – Jonathan Johnson

Match prediction: Benfica 0, Liverpool 1. Jurgen Klopp’s men are said to be gaining the advantage after working extremely hard for it. – Jonathan Johnson

Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid

Date: Tuesday April 5 | Time: 3 p.m. ET | Live broadcast: CBS and Paramount+
Location: Etihad Stadium – Manchester, United Kingdom
Commentators: Peter Drury and Jim Beglin (Sideline Reporters: Peter Schmeichel)
Opportunities: Manchester City -270; tie +375; Atletico +800 (via Caesars Sportsbook)

Featured Game | Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid

A duel to watch: Phil Foden vs. Jose Maria Gimenez. Gimenez Atleti is not only the most important central defender, but also two of the best players in their respective positions. The Uruguayan is a tank at the back but he needs to be very careful when facing off against a tricky and fast Foden, knowing that one wrong challenge can dig a huge hole. Expect Gimenez to be a little less aggressive than usual and try to stay ahead of the rising England star. – Roger Gonzalez

Most likely without conceding a goal: Ederson. The City keeper will be happy to concede despite Atleti’s four goals against Deportivo Alaves on Saturday. Atleti will apply pressure and aim to get City to turn it around, but no team in the world endures like City. And no club handles pressure like them with their quick, efficient touches. If they keep the ball on the ground and distribute it wisely, they can limit chances and concede an important goal. – Roger Gonzalez

Voted man of the match: Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian is the engine in the middle, getting just in front of goal from a free-kick and finally getting the decisive assist with a wonderful ball on Foden. – Roger Gonzalez

Match prediction: Manchester City 1, Atlético Madrid 0. Strong City possession creates plenty of chances but a single goal is enough as they combat Atleti’s pressure with crisp passes. – Roger Gonzalez

Chelsea vs Real Madrid

Date: Wednesday April 6 | Time: 3 p.m. ET | Live broadcast: CBS and Paramount+
Location: Stamford Bridge – London, United Kingdom
Commentators: Clive Tyldesley and Rob Green (Sideline reporters: Jules Breach)
Opportunities: Chelsea +108; Draw +225; Real +280 (via Caesars Sportsbook)

Featured Game | Chelsea vs Real Madrid

A duel to watch: Karim Benzema against the Chelsea back three. It’s hard to look at this matchup and get away with the expectation that someone will have more impact on how things go than Benzema. With eight goals already in the Champions League, Benzema was instrumental in Real’s performance. Thomas Tuchel needs to come up with a plan to stop him as much as he likes to drop low to orchestrate the game or finish from the penalty area in every way. – Chuck Booth

With the expected back three of Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Ceasar Azpilicueta expected to form Chelsea’s back three, they have quality to rival Benzema but also don’t need to focus too much on Real Madrid’s dangerous man to which Time Vinicus Junior or Rodrygo can still hurt them. – Chuck Booth

Most likely a goal: Karim Benzema. Even though it’s an away game, I find it hard to bet against Benzema performing on the big stage, especially after his hat-trick against a top-flight PSG side where everything is at stake. Benzema also has a golden boot chance if Real Madrid advance in the competition with eight goals in the competition. – Chuck Booth

Voted Man of the Match: Thibaut Courtois. Courtois returns to Stamford Bridge again and will be quite busy making up for Real’s weak defense in this game. Behind Odysseas Vlachodimos, Courtois has saved the second most goals in the Champions League with his saves in big moments with 3.24. As I watch Chelsea score in the game, he will keep Real in a game they probably shouldn’t walk away from in a win. – Chuck Booth

Match prediction: Chelsea 1, Real Madrid 2. While it’s going to be a close affair, Benzema will see Real Madrid cross the line as winners. – Chuck Booth

Villarreal vs Bayern Munich

Date: Wednesday April 6 | Time: 3 p.m. ET | Live broadcast: Outstanding+
Location: Estadio de la Cerámica – Castelló, Spain
Opportunities: Villarreal +420; Draw +320; Bayern -165 (via Caesars Sportsbook)

Featured Game | Villarreal vs Bayern Munich

A duel to watch: Robert Lewandowski versus Pau Torres. Lewandowski lives for European nights and his 12 goals this season make this clash instantly intriguing. He also leads UCL with 9.8 goals expected, 17 shots on target and is sixth-most assists this season with three assists. But don’t sleep on Torres, who played a huge role for Unai Emery’s side in the round of 16 against Juventus as they beat the Serie A heavyweights. -Francesco Porzio

Most likely to score a goal: Manuel Neuer. The Germany keeper has what it takes to help his side win first blood in this one-goal tie and prepare for a comfortable return leg at home. Bayern Munich are unbeaten in their last five away games in the first leg of a round of 16 first leg in the UEFA Champions League (W3 D2) – the last such defeat was in the semi-final first leg against Atlético Madrid in 2015/16, when the side of Pep Guardiola finally retired on away goals. -Francesco Porzio

Voted man of the match: Robert Lewandowski. His European record is just incredible. He has scored 12 goals in eight UEFA Champions League games for Bayern Munich this season – only three players have ever scored more in a single season in the competition (Lionel Messi 2011/12 and Cristiano Ronaldo 2013/14, 2015 /16 and 2015/16). 2017-18), one of them was Lewandowski himself in 2019-20 (15). -Francesco Porzio

Match prediction: Villarreal 1, Bayern Munich 2. I expect a victory for the road team, but it won’t be easy. Villarreal have proved a tough side to beat under Unai Emery. -Francesco Porzio Champions League Predictions, Odds: Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid, Experts Share Chelsea-Real Madrid
