Celtic receive an injury boost from Aaron Mooy but two missing stars worry fans ahead of Rangers clash

AARON MOOY is ready to give Ange Postecoglou an Old Firm boost and declare himself for FIT to face Rangers.

The Aussie has been a key figure at Parkhead this season but has missed the last two games with sore muscles.

His influential role has made him a fan favorite since joining Celtic from the port of Shanghai last summer.

Mooy sat on international duty with his fitness doubts, but Postecoglou revealed he was “close but not quite ready” to face Ross County at Dingwall over the weekend.

Now preparing for a welcome return to the Old Firm derby clash, he has been spotted in training at Lennoxtown.

The good news for Hoops fans could stop there, however, as two more stars were marked missing and fears surfaced whether they will appear in the crucial Premiership clash at Parkhead at the weekend.

Reo Hatate and Greg Taylor were notable for their absence from Celtic TV footage, raising concerns online.

In response to the clips, one fan said: “Pretty much confirmation that unfortunately Hatate is out for the weekend. Taylor isn’t training either, but hopefully he’ll make it.”

Another fan tweeted: “No Hatate we lose so much from midfield without his engine. Think we need at least two in this position in the summer.”

Many more questioned the whereabouts of the first team, while another added: “We are demanding Hatate and Taylor’s content.”

Taylor sustained a dead leg in the Highlands on Sunday. Hatate was also injured but was thought to be close to a return.

Of course, Taylor’s absence could be precautionary. Postecoglou downplayed post-game fears.

He said: “[Taylor] had a dead leg that disabled him. But it’s nothing that would stop him, I wouldn’t believe.

But his absence has raised concerns at the support.

The likes of Liel Abada, James Forrest and Anthony Ralston are also believed to be on the torn list ahead of the weekend.

A win for Celtic will increase their lead at the top of the Cinch Premiership to 12 points, potentially putting them three games away from defending their title.

A loss to Michael Beale’s Rangers would reduce the deficit to six points with seven games left.
