Caught on camera: Alleged thief wanted after camera caught woman being robbed at grocery store in northeast Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — Police are hoping this surveillance video will help them track down the thief who robbed a woman who was trying to pay a bill at a grocery store in northeast Houston.

Investigators said the suspect went to the grocery store on the 5500 block of Lockwood around 11:20 a.m. on August 1

Surveillance video showed the suspect entering the store and robbing a woman.

The woman, who police said was in her 60s, tried to pay a bill at the store and kept $220 at the counter.

The suspect snatched the cash from her and drove away in a 2012-2017 Hyundai Accent hatchback, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, who was last seen wearing a black Calvin Klein sweater and light-colored pants.

Authorities urge you to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston directly if you have any information regarding this investigation.
