Carrie Underwood’s exact workouts, as revealed by her trainer, from her daily routine for legs to abs

Being a star takes blood, sweat and tears, but in Carrie Underwood’s case, the sweat runs high.

The country singer’s trainer, Eve Overland, revealed the details of the eight-time Grammy winner’s workout routine.

On the night of her Grammy acceptance, Underworld strolled onto the stage and wowed viewers with her toned legs — a physique her trainer says is no easy feat.

Like all good, balanced workouts, the singer incorporates a mix of compound exercises into her routine, making sure to work her upper, lower, and opposing muscle groups.

The singer also makes sure to vary her workouts daily, focusing on different muscle groups day in and day out.

“Day one could consist of upper body presses like chest presses and tricep extensions and lower body pulls like hamstring curls and deadlifts,” Eve explained.

“Day two could be upper body pulls, like lat pulldowns and bicep curls, and lower body presses, like squats and lunges.”

The switch also keeps Underwood from getting injured or burning out: “She gets a lot of frequency with lower body exercises without overworking them on any given day,” Eve added.

“This approach has contributed to her amazing strength and shapely physique.”

Part of Underwood’s training philosophy is to stick to tried-and-true variations of squats, lunges, and deadlifts: “She likes to stick to the basics because they work,” Overland said.

“Not to mention it’s powerful and exciting and makes you feel like a total ass when you’re putting on weight and seeing strength gains with those big lifts.”

For the upper body, the trainer praised Underwood’s dominance as the pull-up “boss” and shared that she does barbell bicep curls, alternating between hammer curls, barbell push presses, and dumbbell shoulder presses.

To achieve her toned legs, the singer tends to opt for “squats, one-leg deadlifts, and hamstring rolls.”

As for abs, Carrie turns to “hanging leg raises and ab wheel rollouts” for a defined and strong core.

Finally, the trainer emphasized a key component of any health regimen – nutrition.

Eve explained that the singer intends to combine her workouts with a healthy diet that works for her.

“She’s primarily plant-based, but includes eggs from her own hens and occasionally dairy, although she omits dairy on show days,” Eve said.

“She strives to eat whole, natural foods. Carrie loves gardening and her favorites are all the things she grows and cooks from scratch.”

The Grammy winner is clearly a fitness powerhouse, but the trainer stressed the importance of celebrating wins big and small.

“Your confidence increases when you reach a fitness goal, big or small. It’s that positive feedback that keeps the momentum going,” Eve said.
