Carlos Alcaraz ousts Jannik Sinner and reaches the Indian Wells final
Top seed Alcaraz eclipsed Sinner 7-6 (4) 6-3 in a thrilling encounter reminiscent of their epic clash at the US Open last year.
An early break allowed Alcaraz to take a 4-2 lead but Sinner won three straight games en route to a 6-5 lead.

The Italian had a chance to win the opener but Alcaraz managed to fend off the set point and force a tie break.
That effort signaled a change in momentum for Alcaraz, who claimed the tie-break and drove to victory in the second set, ending the match in an hour and 52 minutes.
Alcaraz meets Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final after the world number six previously defeated Frances Tiafoe in a grueling back-and-forth.

American Tiafoe saved seven match points in a spirited end of the first semifinal but eventually lost 7-5, 7-6 (4) as Medvedev went on to a 19-straight win.
A win against Medvedev would catapult Alcaraz back to world no. 1 after an injury ended his previous tenure at the top.
Meanwhile, Britain’s Neal Skupski and Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof narrowly missed out on victory in the doubles final, losing 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 to Rohan Bopanna and Matt Ebden.
