Can I park on double yellow lines with a disability card?
Blue badge holders can park on double yellow lines.
But only for a period of three hours.
It is important that you show your blue badge and blue watch once you have arrived.
If you do not show this sticker, you will be treated like normal road users.
In general, Blue Badge holders should not park where there are loading or unloading restrictions.
These are usually marked by yellow curbs, but check with your local authority if this restriction applies.
Can I park on red lines with a disability pass?
Red routes are generally in Greater London, but a small number exist outside of London.
It is best to check with a blue sticker before parking on a red route, as you do not want to risk a fine.
Call TfL or visit their website when in London to find out which red line streets you can park on.
The same information can be found outside of London by contacting your local authority.
Do Blue Badge holders have to pay a congestion charge?
If you have a blue sticker you are entitled to a 100% discount on the congestion charge.
Even people who do not have or drive a vehicle are eligible for congestion fee waivers as long as they have a blue sticker.
If your vehicle has a disability card, you will automatically receive the discount and do not need to register.
In order for the badge to display correctly, it must be on your vehicle’s dashboard or instrument panel.
If this is not possible, you must mount it in a place that is easily visible from the outside.
Failure to display it correctly can result in parking penalties or fines.
