And the reason behind it is absolutely brilliant.

Wilson, 31, was awarded the start at the London Stadium tonight ahead of Alexander Isak.

And he justified his pick within six minutes, deflecting a free header six yards into the back net.

Running behind the gate, Wilson demonstrated his silky smooth dance skills by performing the iconic Macarena moves.

And it all came down to a bet he had with West Ham forward Michail Antonio, who he does the Footballers’ Football Podcast with.

Wilson said, “There’s a story. Michail Antonio and I are doing a podcast together.

“He told me whoever has to score to do this celebration.

“You will be caught up the moment you drive away.

“I got a bit of stick but it was nice to do it in front of the West Ham fans but it’s not personal.”

Sky Sports experts Jamie Redknapp and Jobi McAnuff loved it – and even recreated the dance in the studio during their analysis.

Wilson’s dream record against West Ham continued as he scored 12 goals against the Hammers in the Premier League – only Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen have more.

He received his second and Newcastle’s third on the night when Jacob Murphy selected Nayef Aguerd’s pocket seconds after the restart and placed the ball on a plate for Wilson to tap it in.

Lukasz Fabianski brought on the number 4 that night as Isak got on the scoresheet and Joelinton completed the 5-1 loss in the 90th minute to complement his 13th-minute finish.

Wilson – whose team remains third – added: “Mikhail ran away and didn’t want to speak to me.

“I’ll enjoy the next podcast, he won’t!

“It’s a tradition now. Sometimes you have teams you play against. I enjoy playing against them and you just feel like you’re going to score.”

“I had the opportunity to start today and I got on the scoresheet and we got three points.

“Before the game everyone says: ‘It’s West Ham, you’re going to score today.’

“You get a feeling and it’s about taking the chance. I’ve been on the bench for the last few weeks and from today you have to speak up.”
