Boy, 13, guilty of attempted rape and series of sexual assaults against four women while ‘wearing school uniform’

A BOY faces jail time after being found guilty of attempted rape and a series of sexual assaults against four women while “wearing school uniform”.
The 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with nine counts of sexual assault, two attempted rapes and one count of assault.

A trial at Kidderminster Youth Court heard yesterday how the women in Shropshire were attacked by a boy “in school uniform” between 4pm and 5.30pm.
He told the arresting police officers that it was a case of false identity.
Judge Ian Strongman said: “One of the reasons these attacks were unsuccessful, for lack of a better word, is that the accused is only 13 years old.
“I have no doubt that in a few months he will be stronger and bigger and could pose a real threat to women.”

He added that the women had fought “bravely and persistently” for the boy to be brought to justice.
Detective Sergeant Chris Henry said: “I would like to thank the victims for their courage in speaking out in court which led to today’s verdict.
“Fortunately, attacks like this are rare, but women everywhere can rest assured that if they do, we will not hesitate to act.”
The Telford boy did not testify and was found guilty.
He will be sentenced by Shrewsbury Crown Court on May 5.
