Bowling fundraiser aims to raise $250,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana threw a party at Thunderbowl #1 Thursday night to kick off the organization’s largest annual fundraiser.
The 2023 Bowl for Kids’ Sake benefit will include bowling from the remainder of February through early March, and the organization hopes to raise approximately $250,000.
Shelley Schwab, chief development officer at Big Brothers Big Sisters, said the organization has been doing the bowling fundraiser since 1976.

“It’s super exciting that the community is supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters,” Schwab said. “We need mentors so badly and when you make that call, people respond.”
The goal of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to build and support personal mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
