bjp: BJP is preparing for the elections in Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan

New Delhi: Immediately after the end of five states’ general elections, the BJP is preparing for the elections planned in the next two years and has started its work in Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan. ET previously reported that the Madhya Pradesh BJP had entered voting mode.

In Rajasthan, where the next state elections are due late next year, a campaign to appoint panna pramukhs (persons responsible for one page of the electoral roll) in all of the state’s 52,000 polling booths has started early, and the party is targeting 1.1 million people to delegate in booth committees across the country. The exercise lasts until April 6th.

“We are currently present at 42,000 stands. With this initiative, we now aim to have our teams present at all 52,000 booths in the state,” said Satish Poonia, President of BJP in Rajasthan. “These stand staff will continue to work to add more and more people to the BJP’s ideology.”

The party launched this action from Ganganagar district, where the BJP did not do well in the previous parliamentary elections and which was one of the regions affected by peasant agitation.

New voting teams in Gujarat and Karnataka will be announced soon, according to party officials. Gujarat’s next general election is due later this year, while Karnataka will go to the polls early next year.

The leaders involved in the UP election would be given important roles in the electoral states, BJP officials said.

The party has begun targeting statewide communities located in Gujarat and Karnataka. This begins with the celebration of Rajasthan Diwas in Karnataka and Gujarat. The celebration will take place on March 30th.

A similar exercise is undertaken to meet people from states like Bihar, UP and Jharkhand in these states. The BJP was under pressure in Karnataka because the opposition congress here is quite impressive compared to the five states that recently went to the polls. In a side poll in October 2021, Congress snatched an assembly seat from the BJP in Prime Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s home district of Haveri. While the BJP plans to combine official visits by senior leaders like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah with party-related public meetings in the coming months to keep the momentum going, its leaders are trying to exploit issues like the hijab to limit the party’s influence in Congress .
