1. Alps heating & air conditioning

In Springfield, South Dakota, Al Puig completed a heating, ventilation and air conditioning program while his wife, Kathy, was studying business administration. Then, about 40 years ago, they moved to Southern California where, after Al worked in the HVAC industry for several years, the couple decided to start their own business.
Since 1993, Alps Heating & AC has installed and serviced home heating and cooling equipment throughout Orange County and portions of Los Angeles County.
“It was just a corner shop,” says Kathy Puig about the beginnings of Alps. In the early days, the staff consisted of Al, Kathy and another salesman. However, today they have 25 employees.
“We’re still small, but we’re bigger than we were,” she adds. “We like to take care of people’s homes.”
And that keeps the Alps busy, especially during Southern California’s heatwaves when the company’s trucks trundle from town to town on service calls as the temperature rises.
For those looking to prepare their home for summer heat and winter chills, Alps has a seasonal maintenance program. In the worst case, you can call the company’s emergency number to request service. “We do our best to meet the customer’s needs and get to market as quickly as possible,” says Kathy.
Beyond heating and air conditioning, Alps offers duct cleaning, air washer, insulation and water heating services.
