Bersatu leadership rejects Muhyiddin’s resignation as party leader

KUALA LUMPUR: A special session of the Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) today unanimously rejected the resignation of party leader Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (Picture).

Bersatu Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said in a statement that this was because the MPT believed the charges against Muhyiddin were made in his capacity as President of Bersatu and not in his person.

He urged all Bersatu members and supporters to remain patient and calm during testing times for the party and its president.

In the statement, Hamzah also congratulated the newly formed Srikandi Muda wing, which held its first congress yesterday.
