Benfica vs Liverpool LIVE Commentary & Team News: Jurgen Klopp’s Reds see first-leg lead in Champions League quarter-finals

Liverpool travel to Benfica for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-finals and it will be broadcast live on talkSPORT.
On paper this looks like a favorable draw for the Reds but they are yet to walk away with a win.

Liverpool lost their last Champions League game against Internazionale but won the draw
The Reds are in phenomenal form having won 16 of their last 17 games in all competitions and have yet to win the Quadruple.
Their opponents had a longer Champions League season than most because they had to go through two qualifying rounds and beat Ajax in two legs to set up that draw.
They are currently third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga table, 12 points behind Porto at the top and lost 3-2 to Braga on Friday night.
This is the sides’ 11th meeting and the Reds have not won since 1984 at Benfica.
One man Premier League fans should watch out for is Darwin Nunez – the 22-year-old is one of the brightest young strikers and could well play in the Premier League next year, with a multitude of clubs.

Benfica vs Liverpool: team news
The big news for Liverpool is that Trent Alexander-Arnold should be fit to return to the starting XI.
The England international was on the bench in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Watford so you’d expect him to play on Tuesday.
But the Reds could do without Naby Keita, who has a minor knee problem, and Harvey Elliott, who missed Saturday’s game.
Klopp also faces a decision on his first three as Luis Diaz has played seven times against Benfica and never lost, while Mo Salah refuses the boil.
Sadio Mane will also be itching to get a start so Klopp faces a difficult decision ahead of the game.
Benfica manager Nelson Verissimo has pretty much a full squad to choose from but Rodrigo Pinho and Adel Taarabt are doubtful after missing out on the Braga defeat.
Switzerland international Haris Seferovic returned as a substitute from injury on Friday and could start tomorrow night.

Benfica vs Liverpool: what was said?
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp: “I know people will say we’re favorites and things like that, but that’s the first mistake you could make.
“We’ve been in business too long now to make mistakes like this.”
Liverpool boss Virgil van Dijk: “We just want to make this season an unforgettable one.
“If you had said it at the start of the season we would still be in all competitions with a full squad at this point [we’d have taken it].
“We should just enjoy it, go to Lisbon and give everything. If it’s not enough, we’ll go back next season. Things that are going on in Liverpool should not be taken for granted.”
