Bank of America Chicago Marathon Road Closures: Complete list of traffic delays and road delays in the Grant Park area for the 2022 route

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago officials and the organizers of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon released a full list of road closures in the Grant Park area, the event’s leader.

Closures begin on Monday 3rd October. Officials said they were anticipating traffic and considering alternative routes. The marathon takes place on Sunday and the Abbott Chicago 5K on Saturday.

Monday October 3rd

• Balbo from Columbus to DuSable Lake Shore Drive at 10:00 am to Wednesday, October 12 at 6:00 am

Wednesday October 5th

1. Jackson from Columbus to DuSable Lake Shore Drive at 10:00 am to Monday, October 10 at 6:00 am

Thursday October 6th

The Columbus Drive from Roosevelt to Ida B. Wells will close at 4 a.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. on Monday, October 10

Friday October 7th

Jackson from Michigan Avenue to Columbus Drive closes at 4am through Sunday, October 9th at 8pm

Ida B. Wells from Congress Plaza to Columbus Drive closes at 4am through Sunday, October 9th at 8pm

Ida B. Wells from Michigan Avenue to Congress Plaza closes at 4am through Sunday, October 9th at 8pm

The Congress Plaza on Michigan Avenue from Van Buren to Harrison Street closes at 4 a.m. through 8 p.m. Sunday, October 9

Columbus Drive from Monroe Street to Jackson closes at 4am and reopens at 8pm on Sunday, October 9th

The Columbus Drive from Jackson to Ida B. Wells closes at 4am and reopens at 8pm on Sunday, October 9th

Saturday October 8th

Columbus Drive from Randolph to Monroe Street closes at 6am and opens at 12pm on Sunday, October 9th.

Monroe Street from Michigan Avenue to Columbus Drive will close at 12 noon and open at 12 noon on Sunday, October 9th.

Monroe Street from Columbus Drive to DuSable Lake Shore Drive closes at 12pm and opens at 5pm on Sunday, October 9th

The Roosevelt Road from Columbus Drive to the DuSable Lake Shore Dive closes at 11am and opens at 6pm on Sunday, October 9th

Sunday October 9th

Michigan Avenue from Madison to 9th Street closes at 4am and opens at 9am on Sunday, October 9th

Roosevelt Road from Michigan Avenue to Columbus Drive closes at 4am and opens at 6pm on Sunday, October 9th

Columbus Drive from McFetridge Drive to Roosevelt Road closes at 4am and opens at 6pm on Sunday, October 9th

Michigan Avenue from 9th Street to Roosevelt Road at 5:30 a.m. and Sunday, October 9 at 4:00 p.m

All roads except Balbo from Columbus to DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be fully reopened by 6 a.m. Monday, October 10

Race day road closures along the course will begin at approximately 7am on Sunday and are expected to reopen at 4.30pm or when deemed safe.

The following roads will be closed to traffic on October 8th between 7am and 9am:

Ida B. Wells St, between Columbus Dr. and Congress Plaza Dr.

Congress Plaza Dr., between Harrison St. and Van Buren St.

Harrison St., between Michigan Ave. and Franklin St.

Franklin St., between Harrison St. and Van Buren St.

Van Buren St., between Franklin St. and Wacker Dr.

Wacker Dr., between Van Buren St. and Dearborn St.

Jackson Blvd., between Wacker Dr. and Clark St.
