At a South LA street takeover, a passenger appears to be pointing a gun at the crowd

A passenger hanging from a vehicle involved in a street takeover appeared to draw a gun and point it at a crowd in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood of south Los Angeles Sunday night.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Century Boulevard and San Pedro Street.

The video showed cars making donuts on the road, which often seemed to lose control and almost hit people who had run into the intersection to watch.

Some spectators were seen shining laser lights at the vehicles, which could further distract drivers.

Once, a man hanging from the passenger side of a Dodge Charger pointed what appeared to be a handgun at a small group of people who had run into the street.

The event lasted about 15 minutes when officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were blocked by the crowd.

It was unclear if arrests were made or if anyone was injured.

Sunday’s street takeover comes amid a string of similar events in recent times.

Just last month, a crowd of about 100 people attended a street takeover in Beverly Hills.
