Arrest updates from Donald Trump – ex-president hours away from facing ’34 felony charges’ as questions linger over mugshots

FORMER President Donald Trump is just hours away from being arrested on 34 felonies.
It was announced last week that the former president would be arrested today after a New York grand jury indicted him over paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
With the arrest imminent, many are awaiting Trump’s mug shot and wondering if the former president will join the list of famous gunmen, including Mick Jagger, Joseph Stalin and Martin Luther King Jr.
CNN reported that their sources said it was not certain a mugshot would be taken for fear of a leak.
Manhattan DAs have been working with the Secret Service and New York City authorities to safely transport the former president.
Once arrested, Trump will be officially briefed on his charges, which include falsifying business records, a Class E felony.

Trump’s lawyer expects a “tough” process
Donald Trump’s attorney, Timothy Parlatore, told CNN that Judge Merchan can be harsh.
He explained: “I’ve tried a case before him before. He could be tough. I don’t think it will necessarily be anything that will change his ability to assess the facts and the law in this case.”
Parlatore added Merchan “wasn’t easy” the last time he stood trial.

More on Merchan’s answer
Judge Juan Merchan denied requests from several media outlets to transfer the charges.
Judge Merchan said: “People are rightly hungry for the most accurate and up-to-date information available. To suggest otherwise would be disingenuous.”
Despite his understanding of the request, he turned it down because of “conflicting interests”.
Trump’s legal team has also spoken out against media presence for security reasons.

The charge will not be transferred
The judge presiding over Donald Trump’s indictment, Juan Merchan, denied requests from multiple media outlets to broadcast Trump’s indictment.
The New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal wrote a letter to the court asking permission to allow a limited number of production teams to participate in the arrangement.
Judge Merchan denied the motion, but added: “It is impossible to dispute that these charges are a matter of monumental importance. Never in the history of the United States has an incumbent or former President been indicted on any criminal charges.
“Mr. Trump’s indictment has generated unprecedented public interest and media attention,” according to CNN.
