Are Tape-In Hair Extensions Worth the Hype?

NEW YORK — Unfortunately, I don’t naturally have long, strong, thick, and luscious hair. What I have is a love for hair extensions. Luckily, there are a variety of options to add length and volume to my curls.
I’ve tried everything from temporary clip-in extensions and clip-on ponytails, to expensive heat-fusion extensions that can last months, to now-semi-permanent tape-in extensions.
When used properly, tape-in extensions can be much more forgiving on your natural hair. Flat hair strips gently include strands of your natural hair. This will prevent your real hair from being pulled or ripped while allowing it to continue growing.
After some research, I decided to work with Head Stylist Vanessa Alcala at the Mark Ryan Salon, owned by celebrity colorist Mark DeBolt and celebrity stylist Ryan Trygstad.
