Are garden centers open on New Year’s Eve?

That depends on which garden center you go to. Many garden centers are closed on Easter Sunday but remain open on all other days of the bank holiday weekend.

Below are some examples of centers and their opening times.

Dobbys

Dobbies operates over 75 stores across the UK.

They will be open on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but not on Easter Sunday.

A spokesman for Dobbies said: “Dobbies opening hours remain the same, the only difference being that all shops in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are closed on Easter Sunday with the exception of English Little Dobbies which will remain open.”

squire

Squires has 16 locations across England, with locations in places such as Twickenham, Reigate and Crawley.

They run as usual with the exception of Easter Sunday when they are closed during the day.

A spokesperson for Squires said: “Squire opening hours will remain the same over Easter weekend with the exception of Easter Sunday when all of our centers will remain closed.”

Clifton

Clifton Nurseries have locations in London and Surrey.

They are closed on Easter Sunday, otherwise open normally.

Please note that Clifton Surrey opens at 9am and closes at 5pm Monday to Saturday.

This differs from Clifton London, which is open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 6pm and Friday and Saturday from 9am to 7pm.

Burford

Burford Garden Center is based in Oxfordshire.

They are closed on Easter Sunday but open every other day on Easter weekend.

A Burford spokesman said: “We are open as usual over the Easter long weekend apart from the closure on Easter Sunday.”

It’s important to check if the garden center you plan to visit is open on those days or you will be disappointed.
