Anthony Joshua’s former coach Robert Garcia warns Gervonta “Tank” Davis that Ryan Garcia could “hurt” him with “insane force”.

Robert Garcia believes Ryan Garcia, despite being the underdog, has what it takes to “finish” Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.

Garcia and Davis will face off in a long-awaited match on April 22nd in Las Vegas.

With “Tank” being one of the sport’s biggest pay-per-view stars and considering Garcia’s massive social media presence, this is undoubtedly one of the biggest fights in boxing.

More experienced in the professional ranks, Davis has won world titles by battling some of the most talented fighters in his weight class.

Meanwhile, Garcia is yet to win a world title and has been far less active than “Tank,” but his physical attributes mean “King Ry” still poses a formidable threat.

One man backing Garcia to get the job done is Anthony Joshua’s former trainer Robert Garcia, who previously guided 14 fighters to world titles.

“I think ‘Tank’ is going to be the odds favourite,” Garcia told iD Boxing. “It’s just common sense, he’s a three-division champion and he’s fought the bigger fights and he’s been on the bigger stages and he’s done more than Ryan.

“But I have yet to go with my Southern California fighter, we’ve known him since the amateurs and he’s a good person for boxing because he brings a lot of attention to the sport and a lot of new people to the sport.”

“As a Mexican American and from Southern California, I have to cheer for him and I think he still has a chance, although ‘Tank’ will be the favorite…”

“Ryan has so much speed and insane power that he could injure ‘Tank’ if he lands one of those quick left hooks. I think Ryan could hurt anyone with his fast hands.

“He’s so fast and so powerful that we don’t see those punches but those are the ones that hurt.

“So I think with the speed and power that he has he has a chance. So if he lands he could hurt himself and end ‘Tank’.”
