Ant-Man 3 trailer with fun Spider-Man reference

During Marvel Studios panels at both San Diego Comic-Con and D23 Expo Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has received a lot of attention. Not only is the film slated for release in early 2023, but it is also slated to kick off Phase 5 and the arrival of Kang the Conqueror.
Despite the record-breaking success and multiversal events of No way homethe only MCU franchise that Marvel fans haven’t heard about at recent conventions and events is Spider-Man.
While Marvel faithful aren’t sure exactly when Sony’s own Spidey will return, the D23 trailer for ant man 3 contained a reference to the webhead and its status within the MCU.
How Ant-Man 3 Referenced Spider-Man: No Way Home

Alongside footage of Jonathan Majors as Kang and scenes teasing quantum realm exploration, the D23 Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania The trailer also included a humorous reference to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
In a scene where Scott Lang’s post-endgame Celebrity, a fan accidentally mistakes Scott Lang for the web-slinger, saying: “Thanks, Spider-Man!”
Well, there are a few explanations for this, and they surprisingly reveal Spider-Man’s current state in the friendly neighborhood of Marvel Studios.
First of all, Ant-Man was never a high-profile hero until after endgame; and due to the events of Spider-Man: No Way Homeno one within the MCU remembers that Spidey is Peter Parker.
Because of this, the public can easily mistake one nondescript insect-inspired hero for another, though Scott is now reveling in his newfound fame.
Well, while it’s a joke, this little bug accomplishes something else.
It shows audiences once again that despite the events of Spider-Man, the members of the MCU are still conscious No way home Curse.
As a matter of fact, No way home did a bit of it himself, such as when J. Jonah Jameson’s Daily Bugle continued to cover Spider-Man as opposed to Peter Parker.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness followed suit with Strange stating that he had previously dealt with the multiverse when referring to it “An Incident With Spider-Man” but not Peter Parker.
Will Ant-Man talk about Spider-Man?
A fan confusing Ant-Man with Spider-Man, while a fun swipe at Scott Lang, raises some interesting possibilities for what MCU characters remember about the web-slinger.
Actually a scene from No way home may have already previewed what audiences can expect.
The scene referred to is the emotional visit to May’s grave where Happy Hogan explains that he knew May because of Spider-Man. However, he has no memory of Peter Parker and their history together.

While fans shouldn’t expect to see Tom Holland’s Peter Quantumania or the emotional level of that scene that Scott Lang might be responding to “Thanks, Spider-Man!” Reference with his own thoughts about the hero and his secret identity.
Actually since Mrs Miracle noted that Scott has a podcast, and the D23 trailer touched on how much he loves listening to his own book, fans could hear Scott Spideys explain endgame Acts from the unique perspective of not knowing he is Peter Parker.
In upcoming MCU films, the fact that the Avengers know Spider-Man and not Peter will certainly lead to fewer jokes and more emotional moments.
After all, only Peter and the audience now remember how personal his last exchange with Tony Stark ended up being endgame. And when the Avengers remember Stark in the future, that’s a conversation that Peter can’t fully participate in, even though it was a big part of Tony’s motivation for discovering time travel endgame start with.
Also there both Doctor Strange 2 and ant man 3 have now referenced Spider-Man, this trend is likely to continue.
It seems Marvel wants to let audiences know about the spell and its implications in advance Spiderman 4 and/or Spider-Man’s next cameo appearance.
While the reference is intended to be comical and successful, it also reminds viewers of the current state of the MCU and sets the stage for upcoming Spidey stories.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on February 17, 2023.
