Another frost likely on Friday morning

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – A freeze warning has been issued for areas northwest of Fort Wayne for Friday morning (2:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.). While these areas are the most likely to freeze, the National Weather Service notes that all locations in northeastern Indiana and northwestern Ohio have a possibility of freezing, and the Live Doppler 15 Fury Storm Team agrees.

Mostly clear skies coupled with lightening winds are helping our temperatures drop to just below freezing.

However, there is a chance that our early morning southwest winds will remain just strong enough to keep temperatures from dropping to 32° or below. If temperatures only drop to the mid 30’s then frost is not a likely scenario as our air is currently very dry and not high in humidity.

Any damage to crops tonight will be because temperatures have dropped to 32° or below. So bring these plants inside or cover them with a cloth to protect them.
