Anaheim Family YMCA Planning Big Annual Party – Orange County Register

This year’s Anaheim Family YMCA Gala is themed “An Evening of Inspiration and Intrigue” and the honoree is Bill Taormina.

The gala is scheduled for March 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Westin Anaheim Resort. The event will include live performances by children in the YMCA’s programs, as well as live and silent auctions to raise funds for the programs and more.

Membership recruitment in full swing

Anaheim Beautiful has been active in the community for 50 years. These dedicated volunteers and members work tirelessly to improve the city’s beauty and preserve Anaheim for all of us.

Advance ticket sales for Mystery Authors Luncheon

The Anaheim Library Foundation is once again hosting their well-loved Mystery Authors Luncheon.

Guest authors will be David Putnam, George Fong and Rachel Howzell Hall.

Tickets for the 26th Annual Luncheon, which includes a silent auction on April 30th, are available now; they cost $75 per person or $700 for a table of 10. Tickets can be purchased at mysteryauthorsluncheon.eventbrite.com.

Help kids get to DC

The Zion Lutheran Church presents its Western Gala on February 25th.

The 6:00 p.m. fundraiser at the church at 222 N. East St. will feature music and western dancing, casino tables, an auction, a barbecue dinner and more. All proceeds will support the trip to Washington, DC for the seventh and eighth graders.

Plant seeds for the flower show

The Woman’s Club of Orange is hosting its 84th Annual Flower Show on April 13th.

It’s time to get flowers and plants to grow to take part in the ‘Old Towne Blooms’ show, taking place from 12pm to 4pm at the group’s clubhouse, 121 S. Center St. Everyone is invited and the younger folks can join in and participate in preschool through 12 grade levels for homegrown plants and flower displays.

planning an anniversary

Did you know that Anaheim High is celebrating its 125th anniversary? The feast day established in 1898 is March 16th. From 5pm to 7:30pm there will be food, tours, student performances, a 1998 time capsule and a new logo will be unveiled.

Applications for Leadership Orange are accepted

The Orange Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2023 session of its Leadership Orange.

This is an annual program designed to educate participants on a broad range of community needs and issues, and it provides leadership training and prepares course participants to take an active, informed role in community-focused decision-making positions.

Classes begin in March and are held every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Applications are accepted for 15 to 30 participants.
