Amanah youth, S’gor PKR youth lodge report ‘efforts’ to overthrow government against Hadi

KUALA LUMPUR: National Amanah Youth and Selangor PKR Youth today filed a police report against PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang (pix) for his alleged comment on Perikatan Nasional (PN) efforts to overthrow the unity government .

Fadhli Umar Aminol Huda, member of Amanah Youth National Board, said the statement was evidence that Abdul Hadi acted irresponsibly by going against the wishes of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s priority was to have political stability in the country.

“He (Abdul Hadi) is an MP and yet boldly states that there are such efforts (to oust the government).

“So today we filed a report urging the police to immediately investigate and determine what Abdul Hadi or others have done to overthrow this government,” he told reporters after hearing the report at the district police headquarters Dang Wangi submitted here.

Fadhli Umar said the Marang MP’s action was against the law and could wreak havoc in the country.

He said they also submitted a memorandum to Al-Sultan Abdullah on the matter in Istana Negara this morning.

When contacted, Dang Wangi District Police Chief, ACP, Noor Dellhan Yahaya, confirmed receipt of the report and said it had been forwarded to Sentul District Police Department for further processing.

On March 6, Abdul Hadi reportedly told reporters in the parliament building that PN and opposition bloc parties were continuing “efforts” to overthrow the unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He reportedly said that under Malaysia’s democratic system, this could be done via a vote of no confidence or affidavits. -Bernama
