According to the police, a passer-by found a body floating in Largo Park

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The body of a 51-year-old man was found floating in Largo Central Park Thursday, according to a news release from the Largo Police Department.

Authorities said a passer-by saw the man floating in a body of water near the front of the park’s military memorial area around 2 p.m

Largo Police and Largo Fire Brigade were called to remove the body but could not locate any identification in the man’s possession.

The man was later identified as 51-year-old Michael Jeremy Hare. Officials said his next of kin had been notified.

Largo police are yet to determine how long Hare was in the water before he was spotted by a passerby.

“It is unclear at this time whether the incident is related to the storm,” officials added.

The case is ongoing and under active investigation. Further information was not immediately provided.
