A9 Dalmagarry: Major accident leads to road closure and 70-mile detour
Police and ambulances were called around 6am on Friday to reports of a collision between a car and a truck near Dalmagarry between Tomatin and Moy.
As a result, the road is blocked on all access roads.
Traffic Scotland has advised road users to use the available detour signposted route and allow extra time for their journey.

Northbound: For Northbound traffic turn right at Granish onto the A95, proceed at the A95/A939 roundabout to Grantown on Spey – take the 1st exit and continue on the A939 to the A939/A940 junction – turn left onto the A939 and continue to the A939/A96 junction – Turn left onto Forres Road and continue on the A96 to Inverness – Then follow the permanent signs.
Southbound: – For southbound traffic, turn around at Tomatin and continue northbound on the A9 to Raigmore Interchange – take the exit for Raigmore Interchange and take the 3rd exit onto the A96 and on to Nairn – turn left Turn right onto the A939 and continue onto the A939/A940 junction – Turn right onto the A939 and continue towards Grantown on Spey – At the A939/A95 roundabout, take the 3rd exit and continue onto the A95 Granish and then follow the permanent signs.
