A unique coincidence during the birth of the Denver twins makes for pleasantly raised eyebrows

DENVER (KDVR) — When a happy accident occurs, it can be easy to sidestep or write off entirely, but a fortuitous event that happened during the birth of twins in early October is raising some eyebrows in the best possible way.

Earlier this month, Lauren Meehan arrived at Rose Medical Center to give birth to her two baby girls.

“Our twins chose to arrive early and quickly in the middle of the night,” said Meehan, who is not only a patient but also the director of the cath lab at Rose Medical.

Like many parents-to-be, Meehan and her partner arrived at the hospital with the names of their soon-to-be newborns and ready to put them on their birth certificates.

Being prepared, especially when pregnant, is a smart move, but what she couldn’t have prepared for was the undeniable parallels between the names she had chosen and the names of the two birth and delivery nurses who worked on this one day entered her room.

When the delivery team asked Meehan if she picked the names of her arriving twins, the mood changed drastically.

“We told the room we love the names Emma and Julia. Everyone burst out laughing when the two nurses who would take care of my babies were both named Emma and Julia!” said Meihan. “In that moment, amidst all the chaos, we were able to stop for a second and enjoy that moment because we knew those names were meant.”

After the laughter died down, Meehan’s second and third children, Emma and Julia, were born.

“I’m so happy to now be able to say I have three baby roses!” she said.

“These two nurses will always be special to us and the entire team who took care of us that day will hold a special place in our hearts. It’s going to be a fun story to tell our girls!” Meehan guaranteed.

Well, it might not be a good idea to look for surprises in the birth of twins, but it’s safe to say that this happy coincidence was a welcome one that will be cherished by the Meehans from now on.
