A thunderstorm briefly closes some beaches in LA and Orange counties — Orange County Register

Huntington Beach in Orange County and a stretch of beach on the LA County coast were temporarily closed Wednesday morning, October 12, after a thunderstorm hit the area.
LA County lifeguards announced around 10 a.m. that part of the beaches from Cabrillo to Manhattan Beach were closed. An hour later, county lifeguards announced that all beaches in that section were closed while they monitored the storm.
At 11:35 the beaches were open again.

Huntington Beach also closed its pier and beaches on Wednesday morning The city announced this on Twitter. At 10 a.m. everything was open again. The lightning in Huntington Beach too led to a brief closure on Tuesday evening.
The storm cell moved over southern California on Wednesday afternoon as the National Weather Service warned of brief heavy downpours in the foothills of LA and San Bernardino counties.
