After years of hoping, wishing and praying, a full-length community Feature is officially in the works. Peacock has stepped in to finally fulfill the long-held promise of “six seasons and a movie” with the show’s creator Dan Harmony Returns as executive producer and writer.

“‘Six Seasons and a Movie’ started out as a cheeky line community Seasons and quickly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious, and cool (cool, cool) NBC comedy,” said Susan Rovner, Chair of entertainment content for NBC Universal Television and Streaming. “We are incredibly grateful to be able to bring fans this promised film 15 years later and can’t wait to work with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest and Joel McHale.”

Per diversityThose officially returning for the sequel include series stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. However, so does McHale shared the news on Twitter and tagged former co-stars Donald Glover and Yvette Nicole Brown, who may (or may not) appear in the film. It’s safe to say Chevy Chase will be nowhere near the project.

The show, which focuses on a community college study group, originally ran from 2009 to 2015. The show — despite its cult popularity — has been constantly in flux Network changes and the constant threat of cancellation looming throughout its six-year run. However, he managed to not only persevere but also gain the upper hand as the movie actually fucking happens!

As part of the movie deal with Sony and Universal, Peacock will be getting non-exclusive streaming rights to the original series, so expect it to hit the streamer soon.
