Jeff Horseman grew up in Vermont and honed his interviewing skills as a supermarket cashier by asking Bernie Sanders, “Paper or plastic?” After graduating from Syracuse University in 1999, Jeff began his journalistic odyssey at the Watertown Daily Times in upstate New York, where he impressed the then US Senate candidate Hillary Clinton so much that she called him “John” at the end of an interview. From there he went to Annapolis, Maryland, where he reported on city, county and state government for The Capital newspaper before his love and search for snow-free winters took him to Southern California in 2007 where he began writing for The Press-Enterprise to report on Temecula. Today Jeff writes about the Riverside County government and regional politics. On the side, Jeff has covered wildfires, a tropical storm, 9/11 and the December 2 terrorist attack in San Bernardino.
