40-year-old man hurts leg in fall from 200ft cliff in Sunland: LAFD

The Los Angeles Fire Department is working to rescue a 40-year-old man who was injured after falling off a 200-foot cliff in Sunland on Saturday.

The man, whose identity was not released, was brought to the attention of LAFD at 8:08 p.m., the department said in a warning.

He is conscious and alert, although he suffered a “substantial leg injury” when he crashed near 11401 N. Big Tujunga Canyon Road, the LAFD said.

According to the fire department, he is currently in critical condition.

While the “circumstances causing the fall are currently unknown,” firefighters are working to secure the man in a basket so he can be lifted to the surface and helicoptered to the hospital. said the LAFD.
