2022 Masters odds, tips, predictions: Tiger Woods prediction from a proven golf model that nailed the US Open

Typically, the gametime decision tag is meant for football or basketball players, but that’s the distinction used to describe whether Tiger Woods will be fighting for his sixth green jacket at the 2022 Masters. His last PGA competitive appearance was in November 2020 during the rescheduled Masters when he finished 38th. Given Woods’ rehabilitation after a car accident in February 2020 and his time out of competition, is it worth considering him among your Masters 2022 long shot picks when the Masters 2022 first start times begin Thursday?

Caesars Sportsbook lists Woods 50-1 to win in its live odds for the 2022 Masters. To win again, he must beat a hard-fought 2022 Masters field led by Jon Rahm (10-1), Scottie Scheffler (16-1) and Brooks Koepka (20-1). Before you enter your 2022 Masters picks or PGS DFS picks on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, be sure to check out the golf predictions and predicted rankings from SportsLine’s trusted computer model.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, it’s upped its best bets by over $8,000 since that point, nailing tournament after tournament.

Among McClure’s best bets at the 2021 Open Championship was Collin Morikawa’s overall win, despite being listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. Additionally, McClure’s model was featured all over Jon Rahm’s (10-1) career-first major championship win at the 2021 US Open. Rahm was two strokes away from the lead going into the weekend, but the model still predicted him as the winner.

The same model also nailed a whopping seven majors over the weekend. Everyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the field for the 2022 Masters is set, SportsLine has simulated the event 10,000 times and the results were surprising. Head over to SportsLine now for the prospective 2022 Masters standings.

The model’s top predictions for the 2022 Masters

A big shock awaits the model at the 2022 Masters: McIlroy, a 20-time PGA Tour champion and one of the top favorites, stumbles in Augusta and ends up outside the top 10. After ending his season with a CJ Cup win McIlroy had just one more top-10 finish this season at the Genesis Invitational last October. In his last three years at the Masters, McIlroy finished 21st in 2019, fifth in 2020 and missed the cut last year.

In his last two tournaments, he finished 33rd in the Players Championship and missed another cut at last weekend’s Valero Texas Open. This season, McIlroy has a putting average of 1.761, which is outside the top 120 in that category, and has an overwhelming sand save rate of 56.67 percent, which is outside the top 40.

The model has also explored Tiger Woods’ chances of playing at the 2022 Masters. In the last few days, Woods tweeted: “I will be leaving for Augusta today to continue my prep and training. It will be a game decision whether I will compete.”

As late as November 2021, Woods said he’d like to “pick a few events a year” to play in, and there’s no place he’d rather compete than Augusta National. Although he hasn’t played a touring event since 2020, he did compete in a non-touring event last December, the PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie. At this event, Team Woods finished second.

Attending the 2022 Masters would be special not only because of the circumstances currently surrounding Woods, but also because it is an anniversary edition for the legendary golfer. It marks the 25th anniversary of his historic 1997 victory that put Woods in the public eye. The model just locked his Tiger Woods Masters picks here.

How to make 2022 Masters picks

The model also targets four other golfers at odds of 20-1 or more who will make surprise runs. Anyone who bets on those long shots could make it big. You can only see them here.
